1. Twitter and beyond!

2. The Micro-Blogging Vortex
Beware of falling into the rut of only reading Tweets and not bothering with blogs. They may be wordier, but content is king when it comes to education and education is paramount when it comes to increasing your value in the marketplace. Just a little plug for us Bloggers (some of us actually know what we’re talking about!).

1. Go Go Mozilla!
Ok, that’s a weird title. But if you don’t use Mozilla’s Firefox as your internet browser, you’re missing out on a ton of social-networking shortcuts, or ‘add-ons‘ that can speed up your time on the web.
When I’m using Twitter, my favorite add-on is “TinyURL” I can go to any web page on the net, shrink the URL and paste it into my Tweet and save on characters. My other fave is the RSS add-on. Check it out!
2. Firefox vs. IE
You may assume that the only way to the web is through that blue, round “E” on your computer. You may not even realize you have a choice! Well, you do. Click your “E” go to the web, and google “Mozilla Firefox” and see what you’re missing!

1. Link Yourself to a Job
Checkout this article on the LinkedIn Blog on how to leverage your LinkedIn connection to land a job: http://tinyurl.com/dbj484 . While you’re there, subscribe to their feed and link to all their great advice!
2. Six Degrees
Hopefully, this is not the temperature where you live! But the phrase, ‘six degrees of separation‘ is a theory known around the globe as a reminder that we are all in the same boat. I advise that you snoop around your LinkedIn connections daily to see who they’re connecting to. Peek at their profiles – they may be someone you need to know! If so, ask your connection for an introduction…it could catapult you into your next job!

1. The Power of Twitter Links
Here’s a great article on sharing links in Twitter: http://tinyurl.com/58dclx Author Jennifer Laycock says, “The true value in your blog traffic is in the visitors who add to the conversation and who engage with you to share their own thoughts, ideas and feedback. This concept is at the very heart of social media.”
2. Don’t Just Link…Tweet!
As we try to get our head around the Twitter concept, some think it’s all about networking or marketing their stuff. It’s not. Tweet it the new word for Talk – converse with those who follow you for good ol’ fashioned breeze shooting!
